Volunteer River Clean-Up

Gone are the days of car-washes and plate sales as means of fundraising. Waffle Raffles and Raffle Tickets require donation collection and calling everyone you know, kindly convincing them to support your cause by buying and donating. What if we told you that we have a fundraising opportunity that is fun, and helps the environment all at the same time??
Texas Hill Country River Region proudly offers groups of volunteers the opportunity to clean the Sabinal, Nueces, or Frio River, as a fundraiser. These groups schedule a clean-up date with the staff members officed in the Uvalde County Visitors Center, in Concan. Waivers are signed, clean-up supplies and t-shirts are passed out, and the group is on their way. They are shuttled to a specified drop off location, where the volunteer team will hop in a tube in search of trash. Rapids and swimming holes, pop up in the Cypress Tree lined float trails, making the event more fun than it is, work. Sunshine and smiles are ever present while volunteers fill the yellow Up 2 U bags, that are seen at most local rental company offices and souvenir shops. Trash bags are sifted through, and cans are recycled by more, local volunteers; making this a holistic approach to beautifying our River Region.
These volunteer groups can be as large or small in number as possible, and the trip can be as long as time allows. Each volunteer raises a hearty $10 per hour of clean-up, to be donated to the charity of their choosing.
If you would like to participate in our Volunteer River Clean-up, but don't have a particular non-profit in mind, the following is a list of some of our local and regional non-profits who would greatly appreciate your donation!
