The Inn on the Rim at River Rim Resort is one of Concan's finest examples of glamping or glamorous camping. Built in the style of Hill Country German homestead, this two story lodge is one of the most sought after accommodations in the Frio Canyon.
The Inn has a master suite downstairs with a queen size bed and private bath with tub/shower combination. The great room, with incredible river views, features a kitchen with beautifully distressed black cabinets, a dining room with a massive table made from old barn wood that seats 14 and a living room with a gorgeous dry stacked rock fireplace. Look down to view the beautiful travertine floors or look up to see the rustic wood ceiling that was reclaimed from a Uvalde wool and mohair warehouse once belonging to Governor Dolph Briscoe. Large beams from a peanut factory in St. Louis MO finish out this unique room. A futon provides additional sleeping for two in the living room. A half- bath is located off the great room. Glazed Italian plaster walls are found throughout the Inn.
Upstairs are two large bedrooms. Upstairs bedroom 1 has two full size beds. Upstairs bedroom 2 has two full size beds and one queen size bed. A bathroom complex serves the guests upstairs and has a tub/shower combination. A covered deck facing the river enables guests to watch tubers and kayakers as they float the Frio.
Downstairs the Inn has a large outdoor fireplace on the patio which is located in the enclosed back yard. Proceed through the French doors that open out to the downstairs covered porch and patio and enjoy sitting on what could be the best front porch in America and one that certainly has the greatest view on the Frio.
