Be A Fan
The only maple forest in Texas, Lost Maples boasts 11 miles of excellent hiking, biking, backpacking, bird-watching, photography, and nature trails. Lost Maples has 2,174.2 scenic acres in Bandera and Real Counties, and is located north of Vanderpool on the Sabinal River on Ranch Road 187. Stop by in November to see the fall foliage in full bloom.
Insider tip: Because maples have a shallow root system, and soil compaction from walking can damage the trees, we ask that you please stick to the marked trails. Also, the steep and rugged terrain makes climbing and hiking difficult in some areas. Best to be aware, and stay off the hillsides.
